Ashley Broussard writes emotional women’s fiction rooted in Louisiana, with stories centered on marriage, family, grief, betrayal, forgiveness, and the complicated truths people carry between them. Set against the distinctive backdrop of South Louisiana and New Orleans, her novels are drawn to imperfect people, difficult choices, and relationships that refuse to fit neatly into categories of right and wrong.

She is the author of After Sarah Jane, a contemporary women’s fiction novel set in New Orleans about a marriage already changed by unimaginable loss when the discovery of a betrayal forces one woman to question what she believed about her husband, their marriage, and the years they survived together.

Ashley is especially interested in what happens after the moment that should have changed everything—after the loss, the confession, the betrayal, or the choice. Her stories explore women whose decisions do not always look the way other people think they should, people who make painful mistakes without becoming villains, and families held together by love, history, loyalty, resentment, and humor.

A lifelong Louisiana storyteller, Ashley is drawn to the places and details that make the state feel like nowhere else: old neighborhoods, deep family roots, front porches, complicated histories, strong personalities, and relationships that stretch across generations. She believes forgiveness and understanding are not the same as absolution—and that some of the most interesting stories begin where easy answers end.

When she isn’t writing, Ashley spends time with her little Broussard family, including two spirited Schnauzers, Max and Annie. She loves strong coffee, baking and cooking, handwritten letters, anything pink, slow mornings, and stories that linger long after the last page.
